Nightwatch SEO pricing 2026: what the Nightwatch rank tracker costs, and the alternatives worth pricing against it
The short answer
Nightwatch sells four plans: Starter at EUR 79 a month for 500 keywords, Professional at EUR 159 for 2,500, Agency at EUR 399 for 7,500 and a custom Enterprise tier from 20,000. Every plan tracks daily across six search engines and six AI assistants, which is genuinely broad coverage. Two things the cards do not make obvious: those figures are the annual rates, not the month to month ones, and the entry plan does not include the unlimited user seats the pricing headline advertises.
Every price, limit and feature flag below was read off nightwatch.io on August 30, 2026. Nightwatch quotes euros, so these are the euro list prices the pricing page served that day. Serpstracker builds a competing daily rank tracker. We are not affiliated with Nightwatch and earn no commission on any link on this page.

Four plans, and a keyword count that climbs in fives.
Nightwatch runs an unusually clean pricing page. Four cards, a monthly and yearly toggle, and one promise repeated at the top: you pay for keywords tracked, not for the size of your team. The keyword number on each card is a fixed allowance rather than a dropdown, so the ladder is easy to read.
The steps are steep. Starter to Professional is five times the keywords for twice the money, which is the best value jump on the page. Professional to Agency is three times the keywords for two and a half times the money. After that you are in contact sales territory, and Nightwatch says plainly that anything above 20,000 keywords gets a custom package with dedicated infrastructure and an SLA.
Worth saying up front because a lot of the field cannot manage it: daily updates are on every Nightwatch tier, including the entry one. Ahrefs is weekly on all four of its plans and Moz Campaign rankings refresh once a week. We unpack why the cadence changes what you can actually do with the data in weekly vs daily rank tracking.
Nightwatch plans, August 30, 2026
| Plan | Annual rate | Billed yearly | Keywords |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | EUR 79 / mo | EUR 948 | 500 |
| Professional | EUR 159 / mo | EUR 1,908 | 2,500 |
| Agency | EUR 399 / mo | EUR 4,788 | 7,500 |
| Enterprise | Custom | Contact sales | 20,000+ |
Websites allowed per account run 5, 25, 100 and unlimited. Competitors tracked per site run 5, 10, 15 and custom. Every tier includes a 14 day full feature trial with no credit card required.
The price you see first is the annual price.
This is the detail that changes what you budget. The Nightwatch pricing page loads with the yearly toggle already selected, so the EUR 79 on the Starter card is the rate you get if you commit to twelve months and pay once. The card itself says so in smaller type: EUR 948 billed yearly, save EUR 240.
Nightwatch does not print the month to month figure next to the toggle, and we did not find it anywhere in the page source, so we are not going to quote it as though we read it. What we can do is the arithmetic on the two numbers Nightwatch does publish. If the annual total is EUR 948 and committing saves you EUR 240 over the year, the month to month rate is (948 + 240) / 12, which is EUR 99. The same calculation gives EUR 199 on Professional and EUR 499 on Agency, and each one lands exactly on the advertised 20 percent discount.
Treat those three figures as derived rather than quoted. The point stands either way: if you are not ready to pay a year in advance, the real entry price for Nightwatch is roughly a quarter higher than the number on the card.
Annual rate vs derived monthly rate
| Plan | Published annual | Published saving | Derived monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | EUR 79 / mo | EUR 240 / yr | EUR 99 |
| Professional | EUR 159 / mo | EUR 480 / yr | EUR 199 |
| Agency | EUR 399 / mo | EUR 1,200 / yr | EUR 499 |
One more thing worth knowing before the trial: Nightwatch states in its own pricing FAQ that if the 14 day trial is not cancelled in time, the card is billed automatically for a regular monthly subscription. Reminder emails go out a few days before it ends.
Unlimited seats, with one exception the headline skips.
Nightwatch leads its pricing page with a strong promise. The subhead reads "Simple pricing. Unlimited seats. Pay for keywords tracked, not team size," and the FAQ underneath answers "Do you charge per user seat?" with a flat no, adding that there are no per seat fees and no charge for adding clients or colleagues.
The plan comparison table further down the same page tells a different story. Unlimited user seats sits in the "Agency and team" block, and against the Starter column it carries a dash rather than a checkmark. It appears in the Professional card's "Also included" list, alongside Looker Studio, white label reports and API access, which is the standard way a vendor signals a feature starts at that tier.
We are flagging the conflict rather than resolving it, because only Nightwatch can say which one is current. If you are buying Starter and a second person needs a login, ask before you pay. It is the difference between EUR 79 and EUR 159 a month, and on the annual commitment that is EUR 960 a year.
Where each feature switches on
| Feature | Cheapest plan that has it |
|---|---|
| Daily rank tracking, 6 engines | Starter, EUR 79 |
| AI assistant visibility tracking | Starter, EUR 79 |
| SEO MCP server, site audit, search simulator | Starter, EUR 79 |
| Google Analytics integration | Starter, EUR 79 |
| Looker Studio integration | Professional, EUR 159 |
| API access | Professional, EUR 159 |
| White label reports | Professional, EUR 159 |
| Unlimited user seats (see note) | Professional, EUR 159 |
| Dedicated account manager | Agency, EUR 399 |
| Priority support with an SLA | Agency, EUR 399 |
| Custom API rate limits | Agency, EUR 399 |
| SSO and advanced security | Enterprise, custom |
For client facing work the practical entry price is Professional at EUR 159, because white label reports and the API both start there. That is the same pattern Wincher runs, where the equivalent features start at EUR 89 rather than EUR 49. See Wincher pricing for the side by side.
What a daily keyword actually costs on each plan.
Headline prices are close to meaningless across tools that include different amounts of tracking. Divide the monthly price by the keyword allowance and the ladder becomes readable. Because every Nightwatch tier checks daily, the comparison below is like for like on cadence, which is not true of Ahrefs or Moz. The Nightwatch figures use the annual rate shown on the card.
Cost per daily tracked keyword per month
| Plan | Price | Daily keywords | Per keyword |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nightwatch Agency | EUR 399 | 7,500 | EUR 0.053 |
| Serpstracker Agency | $249 | 5,000 | $0.050 |
| Nightwatch Professional | EUR 159 | 2,500 | EUR 0.064 |
| Serpstracker Growth | $99 | 1,500 | $0.066 |
| Nightwatch Starter | EUR 79 | 500 | EUR 0.158 |
| Serpstracker Starter | $39 | 250 | $0.156 |
Read that table honestly and the two tools land almost on top of each other. At the top of each ladder Nightwatch Agency is EUR 0.053 against our $0.050, which is inside the noise of whatever the exchange rate is doing on the day. At the entry tier it is EUR 0.158 against $0.156. Nightwatch is not expensive per keyword. The differences that matter here are the currency, the minimum cheque you have to write, and the scope of what each subscription covers.
One number does separate them: the smallest amount you can spend and still be tracking daily. Nightwatch starts at EUR 79 a month, or EUR 948 up front for the advertised rate. We start at $39 for 250 keywords with no annual commitment. For a consultant with one site and forty phrases to watch, that gap is the whole decision. The full field is laid out in our rank tracker cost comparison.
Where Nightwatch beats us outright.
We sell a competing product, so take the concessions seriously rather than the compliments. Nightwatch covers more ground than Serpstracker does, and in three specific ways it is not close.
Search engine coverage. Nightwatch tracks Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps on every plan including the EUR 79 one. Serpstracker tracks Google and only Google. If Bing positions or YouTube rankings are part of the job you are being paid for, we do not do that job and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
AI assistant visibility. Nightwatch tracks prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, with sentiment and citation analysis, on every tier. Starter includes 50 prompts and 1,500 collected answers a month, Professional 150 and 4,500, Agency 500 and 15,000. Serpstracker does not measure any of that. We track Google organic positions and we say so on our features page. This is the single strongest reason to choose Nightwatch over us in 2026.
Breadth of toolkit. Content Studio, keyword research, prompt research, an SEO MCP server that plugs into Claude or ChatGPT, a site auditor and a search simulator are on every Nightwatch plan, and Nightwatch is explicit that only the volumes change between tiers. We ship none of those. We are a rank tracker.
Where we think we win
- A dollar price. Nightwatch quoted euros to us. A US buyer on a euro subscription carries an exchange rate and often a foreign transaction fee on top. Our prices are set in dollars and stay there.
- A smaller first cheque. $39 a month for 250 daily keywords, month to month, against EUR 79 for 500 on an annual toggle.
- No annual commitment to reach the advertised rate. The number on our pricing page is the number you pay monthly.
- The stored top ten. Every check keeps the ten organic results that sat around you, so when a position moves you can see who moved into it rather than guessing.
- Same day drop alerts by email and Slack, rather than finding the drop in next week's report.
The honest summary: if you want one subscription that watches Google, Bing, YouTube and the AI assistants and also writes content, Nightwatch is the better buy and it is priced fairly for what it does. If you want daily Google positions, in dollars, cheaply, with the SERP context stored, that is the thing we built.
Three things to check before you cancel anything.
Nightwatch retains three years of SERP history and says so on the pricing page. That archive is the expensive part of any tracker, and it does not come with you. Export what you need before the subscription lapses, not after, and keep the raw positions rather than a rendered PDF.
Second, check what you were actually using. Plenty of teams pay for the AI prompt tracking and the site auditor and then discover they opened them twice. If the only tab you live in is the rankings table, you are paying suite money for a tracker. If you open Content Studio every week, you are not, and moving would cost you more than it saves.
Third, watch the billing date. On an annual plan you have already paid for the rest of the term, so there is no rush and no reason to run two subscriptions in parallel for longer than the overlap you want for comparison.
A sensible overlap
Run both trackers on the same keyword list for two weeks before you decide. Positions differ between tools for real reasons, mostly location, device and the time of day the check ran, and a two week overlap tells you whether the difference is systematic or noise. We wrote up the process in how to switch rank trackers, and the reasons two tools disagree in how accurate are rank trackers.
If the reason you are leaving is client reporting rather than the tracking itself, price the reporting platforms separately before you switch trackers. Our teardown of AgencyAnalytics pricing covers that case, and rank tracker for agencies covers seats, client logins and branded output.
Questions people ask about Nightwatch pricing.
How much does Nightwatch cost?
Nightwatch lists four plans: Starter at EUR 79 a month for 500 keywords, Professional at EUR 159 for 2,500, Agency at EUR 399 for 7,500 and a custom Enterprise tier from 20,000 keywords. Those rates are the yearly billing figures, totalling EUR 948, EUR 1,908 and EUR 4,788 a year.
Does Nightwatch have a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 14 day full feature trial with no credit card required to start. Nightwatch notes in its own FAQ that if the trial is not cancelled within those 14 days the card is billed automatically for a regular monthly subscription, with reminder emails a few days before.
Does Nightwatch update rankings daily?
Yes, on every tier including the EUR 79 Starter plan, in any location or language. Nightwatch also offers on demand checks alongside the automated daily update. That is worth noting because Ahrefs tracks rankings weekly on all four of its plans and Moz Campaign rankings refresh once a week.
How many keywords can you track with Nightwatch?
The published allowances are 500 on Starter, 2,500 on Professional and 7,500 on Agency. Enterprise starts at 20,000 and is scoped to your volume. Nightwatch says teams tracking more than 20,000 keywords get a custom package with dedicated infrastructure, SSO and an SLA.
Does Nightwatch charge per user seat?
Its pricing headline and FAQ both say no per seat fees. The plan comparison table on the same page marks unlimited user seats as unavailable on Starter and lists it among the features that start at Professional. Ask Nightwatch which applies before buying Starter for a team.
What is the cheapest Nightwatch plan with white label reports?
Professional at EUR 159 a month. White label reports, API access, the Looker Studio integration and unlimited user seats all appear in the Professional column and carry a dash against Starter. For agency work that makes EUR 159 the practical entry price rather than EUR 79.
Does Nightwatch have an API?
Yes, from the Professional plan at EUR 159 a month upward. It is switched off on Starter. Agency at EUR 399 adds custom API rate limits on top. Nightwatch also ships an SEO MCP server on every plan, so you can query rankings from Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT without touching the API.
Which search engines does Nightwatch track?
Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps, and the comparison table shows all six on all four plans rather than gating them by tier. Nightwatch also advertises tracking from more than 107,000 locations across over 190 countries, in any language.
Does Nightwatch track ChatGPT and AI Overviews?
Yes. Nightwatch tracks prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews on every plan, and adds sentiment and citation analysis. Prompt allowances are 50, 150 and 500 with 1,500, 4,500 and 15,000 collected answers a month. Serpstracker does not track AI visibility at all.
Does Nightwatch price in dollars or euros?
The pricing page served euro figures when we read it on August 30, 2026. For a US buyer that means the monthly cost is not fixed in dollars and moves with the exchange rate, and many cards add a foreign transaction fee. Confirm the amount your card is actually charged at checkout.
Is Nightwatch cheaper than Semrush or Ahrefs?
For rank tracking, yes on cadence and roughly comparable on price. Semrush starts at $139 a month and Ahrefs at $129, and Ahrefs tracks rankings weekly on every tier while Nightwatch is daily from EUR 79. The suites still win on backlink indexes and keyword databases Nightwatch does not attempt to match.
What is a good Nightwatch alternative?
It depends which part you are replacing. For daily Google positions in dollars at a lower entry price, Serpstracker starts at $39 a month for 250 keywords. For a cheap daily tracker in euros, Wincher starts at EUR 49. For AI visibility tracking there is no cheap swap, because most trackers including ours do not measure it.
