Nightwatch review: Nightwatch SEO rank tracker pricing, plan limits and who should pay for it

Nightwatch is one of the broadest trackers you can buy: daily checks on Google, Bing, YouTube, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps, plus AI answer tracking, a site audit and research tools, all on every plan. The card prices of EUR 79, 159 and 399 are yearly rates; billed monthly the plans cost EUR 99, 199 and 499 for 500, 2,500 and 7,500 keywords. Starter switches off white label, the API and unlimited seats. It is a strong buy for agencies that sell multi-engine and AI visibility reporting, and an expensive one if you only need Google positions.

Nightwatch at a glance

Nightwatch started as a rank tracker and now sells itself as a search visibility platform. The pricing page is built around one idea: every plan gets the same tools, and plans differ only in how much you can track. That is mostly true, with a few exceptions in the comparison table that we come back to below. Here is the grid as the table lays it out.

  Starter Professional Agency
Yearly billing, per month EUR 79 EUR 159 EUR 399
Billed once a year EUR 948 EUR 1,908 EUR 4,788
Monthly billing (derived) EUR 99 EUR 199 EUR 499
Keywords tracked daily 500 2,500 7,500
Websites 5 25 100
Competitors per site 5 10 15
AI prompts tracked 50 150 500
Site audit pages per crawl 1,000 10,000 100,000
White label, API, Looker Studio No Yes Yes
Unlimited user seats Marked unavailable Yes Yes
Account manager, SLA, custom API limits No No Yes

Enterprise starts at 20,000 keywords with SSO, custom data retention and dedicated infrastructure on a quote. Every plan includes daily checks in any location or language, real-time on-demand checks, three years of SERP archives and a 14-day trial with no card. Prices are in euros and payment is by card. We break down every tier, and the annual versus monthly arithmetic, on our Nightwatch pricing page.

What Nightwatch does well

Breadth is the headline. Few trackers at this price follow six engines on the entry plan, and fewer still bolt AI answer tracking onto the same keyword set. If a client asks how often ChatGPT or Google AI Overviews mention them next to their Google positions, Nightwatch answers both from one login. The on-demand check on Starter is also unusual: several rivals keep manual refreshes for their upper tiers.

Location handling is the other strength reviewers keep coming back to. Nightwatch advertises more than 107,000 locations across 190 countries, and its search simulator lets you look at an unpersonalized results page for any of them. For multi-location businesses and the agencies serving them, that plus the Google Maps tracking is a real reason to pay.

Where Nightwatch falls short for buyers

The card price is not the monthly price. EUR 79 sits next to "EUR 948 billed yearly, save EUR 240". A buyer who wants to pay month to month is looking at EUR 99, which is 25 percent more than the headline. That is common in SaaS, but it makes card to card comparisons with trackers that print monthly prices misleading.

Starter is not the agency plan. The page advertises unlimited team seats with no per user fees. The comparison table further down puts unlimited user seats, white label reports, the API and Looker Studio in the Professional column and marks them off for Starter. For any client work, budget for EUR 159 a month on yearly billing, not EUR 79.

You pay for the suite whether you use it or not. AI prompts, SEO agent credits, a content studio and a site crawler come with every plan. Nightwatch says nothing there is an add-on. That is good value when you use them, and dead weight for a team that already runs Screaming Frog, has a content workflow and only wanted a daily number for its commercial keywords.

Euro billing. For a US company the card charge moves with the exchange rate each month, which finance teams tend to dislike on a recurring line item.

Nightwatch cost per daily keyword

Plan prices only mean something against the keyword count you need. This is the monthly list price divided by the daily keywords each plan includes. Euro and dollar figures are not converted, because the rate moves.

Plan Monthly price and daily keywords Per keyword
SerpsTracker Agency $249 for 5,000 $0.050 ($0.025 yearly)
Ranktracker Authority $299 for 5,000 $0.060
SerpsTracker Growth $99 for 1,500 $0.066 ($0.033 yearly)
Nightwatch Agency EUR 499 for 7,500 EUR 0.067 (EUR 0.053 yearly)
Ranktracker Launch $39 for 500 $0.078
Nightwatch Professional EUR 199 for 2,500 EUR 0.080 (EUR 0.064 yearly)
AccuRanker Professional $224 for 2,000 $0.112
SerpsTracker Starter $39 for 250 $0.156 ($0.078 yearly)
Nightwatch Starter EUR 99 for 500 EUR 0.198 (EUR 0.158 yearly)

Nightwatch gets cheaper per keyword the higher you go, and its Agency plan is competitive with dedicated trackers once you count everything that comes with it. Starter is the expensive door: at EUR 99 for 500 keywords it costs more per keyword than any other plan in the table, which only makes sense if you use the AI and multi-engine tracking. The full eighteen-tool table is in our rank tracker cost comparison.

Is Nightwatch worth it for your team?

An agency that sells AI visibility or local reporting: yes, on Professional or Agency. You get white label reports, unlimited seats, the API and every engine in one place. Many agencies then turn the monthly export into a client presentation built from the report for the quarterly review, which saves rebuilding the same charts by hand.

An in-house team tracking a few hundred Google keywords: maybe. Starter works, but you are paying for AI prompts and audit pages at the highest per-keyword rate on the grid. Price it against a dedicated tracker first.

A team that needs 1,500 to 5,000 Google keywords checked daily and nothing else: probably not. That lands on Professional or Agency at EUR 199 to 499 a month. We lay out the cheapest daily plan at five keyword counts on our Nightwatch alternative page, including the counts where Nightwatch is the better buy.

Nightwatch vs SerpsTracker in one paragraph

SerpsTracker is a dedicated daily Google tracker: it checks organic positions for every keyword every 24 hours, stores the top 10 with each check, and sends a same-day drop alert by email, or Slack from Growth up. It costs $39 for 250 keywords, $99 for 1,500 and $249 for 5,000 with the API, billed in dollars, and yearly billing is half price. It does not track Bing, YouTube, the map pack or AI answers, has no site audit or research tools, and makes no white label reports. So Nightwatch wins on breadth, and SerpsTracker wins on price when Google positions are the whole job. Nightwatch review questions

Is Nightwatch worth it?

For an agency that reports on AI answers, the map pack or engines beyond Google, yes. Every plan tracks six engines plus ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answers, daily, with on-demand checks. It is harder to justify if you only need Google positions, because you pay for the audit, research and content tools either way.

How much does Nightwatch cost?

Nightwatch lists Starter at EUR 79, Professional at EUR 159 and Agency at EUR 399 a month on yearly billing, for 500, 2,500 and 7,500 daily keywords. On monthly billing the same plans work out at EUR 99, EUR 199 and EUR 499, derived from the yearly saving the page states. Enterprise starts at 20,000 keywords on a custom quote.

Is Nightwatch good for agencies?

Mostly yes, from Professional up. That plan adds white label reports, the API, Looker Studio and unlimited user seats, all marked unavailable on Starter, and allows 25 websites. Agencies that track mainly Google keywords at volume should still price a dedicated tracker, since 5,000 keywords lands on the EUR 399 Agency plan.

Does Nightwatch have a free trial?

Yes. Every plan comes with a 14-day trial and no credit card is needed to start. Nightwatch says the full toolkit is available during the trial, and its pricing FAQ says there is no long-term commitment and no setup fee. Payment is by Visa, American Express or Mastercard.

What search engines does Nightwatch track?

Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps, on every plan. On the AI side it tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews through a monthly allowance of prompts and collected answers, which rises from 50 prompts on Starter to 500 on Agency.

The verdict

Nightwatch is worth paying for when you will use its breadth: six engines, the map pack and AI answer tracking on one keyword list, with white label and unlimited seats from Professional. Read the card prices as yearly rates and add 25 percent for monthly billing. If all you need is a daily Google position for a few thousand keywords, price a dedicated tracker before you commit to Professional or Agency.
