Ranktracker pricing: plans, cost per daily keyword, and alternatives
The short answer
Ranktracker lists four plans in August 2026: Launch at $39 a month, Growth at $89, Scale at $149 and Authority at $299, each discounted to $31, $71, $119 and $239 on annual billing. The number that matters is smaller than the one in the marketing copy. Launch advertises 15,000 keywords, but that is the monthly refresh allowance. Checked every day, Launch tracks 500 keywords, Growth 1,000, Scale 2,000 and Authority 5,000. Every plan includes unlimited projects and users, a seven day trial, and no free tier.
Prices and allowances below were read off ranktracker.com on August 10, 2026. Serpstracker is a competing rank tracker and is not affiliated with Ranktracker. The section on where Ranktracker is the better buy is as specific as the rest of the page.

What Ranktracker costs in August 2026.
Four tiers, all paid, all including the full tool set. The annual price is billed as a year up front and works out around 20 percent below the monthly rate. Ranktracker states that it bills in whichever currency you prefer, so the dollar figures are the list prices rather than a regional conversion.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Keywords checked daily | Projects |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | $39 | $31 | 500 | Unlimited |
| Growth | $89 | $71 | 1,000 | Unlimited |
| Scale | $149 | $119 | 2,000 | Unlimited |
| Authority | $299 | $239 | 5,000 | Unlimited |
There is no free plan. Ranktracker offers a seven day trial that does not ask for a payment method up front, which is unusual in this category and worth using, because the only way to judge a tracker is to watch it report the same keyword for a week. Unlimited projects and unlimited users on every tier, including the $39 one, is genuinely generous and beats most of the field, including us.
The headline keyword count is not a daily count.
This is the part that catches people out, and it is the reason two honest reviewers can describe the same plan as tracking 500 keywords or 15,000 keywords and both be telling the truth. Ranktracker sells one keyword budget that stretches or shrinks depending on how often you want each keyword checked. Move a keyword from monthly to daily and it consumes thirty times more of the allowance.
So the honest question is not how many keywords a plan tracks. It is how many it tracks at the frequency you actually need. If you are watching a competitive set where a drop on Tuesday needs to be visible on Wednesday, the daily column is your real plan size and the other three columns are marketing surface area.
Mixed frequencies are the sensible way to use this model. Put the thirty keywords that pay the bills on daily, park the long tail on weekly or monthly, and a Launch plan stretches a long way. The trap is only a trap if you assume the big number is the daily number.
One plan, four sizes
The Launch plan at $39 a month, described four ways, all of them accurate:
- 500 keywords checked daily
- 3,500 keywords checked weekly
- 7,000 keywords checked every two weeks
- 15,000 keywords checked monthly
| Plan | Daily | Weekly | Every two weeks | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch, $39 | 500 | 3,500 | 7,000 | 15,000 |
| Growth, $89 | 1,000 | 7,000 | 14,000 | 30,000 |
| Scale, $149 | 2,000 | 14,000 | 28,000 | 60,000 |
| Authority, $299 | 5,000 | 35,000 | 70,000 | 150,000 |
Worth saying plainly: this model is not a trick, and in some ways it is fairer than a flat keyword cap. Most keyword lists do not need daily precision, and paying monthly rates for monthly checks is rational. It only bites when you compare Ranktracker's biggest number against another tool's daily number and conclude Ranktracker is thirty times cheaper. Compare the daily column against the daily column. The argument for why daily matters at all is in weekly versus daily rank tracking.
Almost every Ranktracker pricing page on the web quotes plans that no longer exist.
We checked this because our own pricing research kept returning contradictions. Search for Ranktracker pricing today and you will find directory listings and review sites quoting plan names like Starter, Double Data, Quad Data and Hex Data at $18, $59, $109 and $209, and others quoting a Micro plan at $9. None of those plan names appear on ranktracker.com in August 2026. The current lineup is Launch, Growth, Scale and Authority.
Directories cache old plans
Software directories and review aggregators populate a pricing field once and rarely revisit it. A plan renamed two years ago can sit in a comparison table indefinitely, and other writers then cite the directory rather than the vendor.
Lifetime and AppSumo deals distort it
Ranktracker has run lifetime and discounted deals, and the prices from those campaigns get quoted as if they were list prices. They are not available on the pricing page today, so budget against the list price and treat any deal as a bonus.
The frequency model gets flattened
A writer picks whichever keyword number suits the point being made. The same plan appears as 500 keywords in one roundup and 15,000 in the next, with no mention that the two figures describe different check frequencies.
Two products share the name
Search results mix the Ranktracker SaaS with a desktop application also called Rank Tracker, which is priced per year rather than per month. Section 04 separates them.
The practical rule, and it applies to every tool in this category including ours: read the vendor's own pricing page on the day you buy, and cross-check the keyword allowance rather than the price. Allowances change far less often than prices, and unlike prices they do not shift by region or currency. We apply the same rule across the field in the rank tracker cost comparison.
Two different products are called Rank Tracker, and they are priced nothing alike.
If your search results look inconsistent, this is usually why. One is a browser based subscription, the other is desktop software sold as an annual license, and people compare their prices without noticing they are comparing a monthly fee against a yearly one.
| Ranktracker, ranktracker.com | Rank Tracker, in SEO PowerSuite | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Web based SEO platform, nothing to install | Desktop application you run on your own machine |
| How it is billed | Monthly or annual subscription, $39 to $299 a month | Annual license, roughly $349 to $899 a year for the suite |
| Where checks run | On the vendor's servers, so they continue when your laptop is closed | On your computer, so it must be awake and running |
| Included tools | Rank tracking, keyword research, SERP analysis, backlink monitoring, web audit | Rank Tracker plus WebSite Auditor, SEO SpyGlass and LinkAssistant |
The desktop option looks cheaper over a few years and often is, provided you accept that checking stops when the machine sleeps and that scheduling means leaving a computer on. We cover that trade in Serpstracker vs SEO PowerSuite.
Cost per keyword checked every day, Ranktracker against the field.
Divide the monthly list price by the number of keywords the plan checks daily. It is the only figure that compares cleanly across tools with different packaging, and it is deliberately unkind to us at the entry tier.
| Plan | Monthly price | Keywords daily | Cost per keyword |
|---|---|---|---|
| Serpstracker Agency | $249 | 5,000 | $0.050 |
| Ranktracker Authority | $299 | 5,000 | $0.060 |
| SE Ranking Core | $129 | 2,000 | $0.065 |
| Serpstracker Growth | $99 | 1,500 | $0.066 |
| SERPRobot | $4.99 per bot | 75 | $0.067 |
| Ranktracker Scale | $149 | 2,000 | $0.075 |
| Ranktracker Launch | $39 | 500 | $0.078 |
| Ranktracker Growth | $89 | 1,000 | $0.089 |
| AccuRanker Professional | $224 | 2,000 | $0.112 |
| Advanced Web Ranking Pro | $139 | 1,000 | $0.139 |
| Serpstracker Starter | $39 | 250 | $0.156 |
| Semrush SEO | $117.33 annual billing | 500 | $0.235 |
Shaded rows are ours. Read the table honestly and it says three things. Ranktracker Authority is the second cheapest way to check 5,000 keywords daily on this list, and only our Agency plan beats it. Ranktracker Launch at $39 for 500 daily keywords is twice the size of our Starter plan at the same price, so at the entry tier they win outright. In the middle, our Growth plan checks 1,500 keywords daily for $99 against Ranktracker Growth's 1,000 for $89, which is 50 percent more keywords for 11 percent more money. Ahrefs is absent because its Rank Tracker runs weekly by default, which the Ahrefs alternatives page covers in detail.
What $39 buys there that it does not buy here.
A comparison page that never concedes anything is worthless, so here is the part where we lose. Ranktracker is a suite and Serpstracker is a single instrument, and for a lot of buyers the suite is the right purchase.
More search engines
Ranktracker states it tracks Google, Yahoo, Bing and Yandex. We track Google only. If Bing or Yandex positions are part of your reporting, that decides it before anything else on this page matters.
SERP features and the local pack
Ranktracker records SERP features such as shopping previews, maps and reviews, and tracks Google Business Profile and local pack placement on Google keywords. We store the organic top ten and nothing else, so we cannot tell you when a map pack appeared.
The rest of the toolkit
Keyword research, SERP analysis, backlink monitoring and a site audit are included at every tier. Buying those separately costs more than the Launch plan. We have none of them and are not trying to.
Unlimited projects and users
On every plan, including the $39 one. Our Starter plan allows three sites and one seat, and unlimited sites only arrive on the $249 Agency plan. For an agency with many small clients and a modest keyword count, that gap is significant.
Twice the daily keywords at $39
Launch tracks 500 keywords daily where our Starter tracks 250. If your list is between 250 and 500 keywords and you want them checked every day, Ranktracker is simply the cheaper answer.
A trial without a card
Seven days, no payment method required. We give three live checks per visit and no free plan, which is a smaller taste of the product.
Narrower on purpose, cheaper once the keyword list gets long.
Serpstracker checks Google every day, per location and per device, and stores the organic top ten behind every single check, so a position always has the result set that produced it attached to the date. Plans are $39 for 250 keywords across three sites, $99 for 1,500 across ten sites with five competitors each, and $249 for 5,000 with unlimited sites, white labeling and API access. Daily checking is on every tier, and there is no frequency ladder to reason about, because every keyword is checked daily.
Pick us over Ranktracker when the keyword list is large and you want all of it daily, when you resell reporting and need white labeling and an API without moving to an enterprise quote, or when you want the stored top ten so you can see who displaced you rather than only that your number changed. Pick Ranktracker when you need engines beyond Google, SERP feature and local pack data, keyword research and audits in the same subscription, or when 500 daily keywords for $39 is exactly the shape of your problem.
If you do move, run both for two weeks before cancelling anything. Two trackers will disagree by a place or two on the same keyword, which is normal and explainable, and the method for comparing them fairly is in how to switch rank trackers.
Stated limits
- Google only. Bing, Yahoo and Yandex are not tracked.
- Organic results only. SERP features and the map pack are not recorded.
- No keyword research database, no backlink index, no site crawler.
- No single weighted share-of-voice score. Positions and head-to-head counts instead.
- No free plan. Three live checks per visit without an account, then $39 a month.
The questions people ask before they subscribe.
How much does Ranktracker cost?
In August 2026 Ranktracker lists four plans: Launch at $39 a month, Growth at $89, Scale at $149 and Authority at $299. Annual billing reduces those to $31, $71, $119 and $239 a month respectively. Every plan includes the full tool set with unlimited projects and users, and there is no free tier.
How many keywords can you track with Ranktracker?
It depends entirely on how often you check them. Launch covers 500 keywords daily, 3,500 weekly, 7,000 every two weeks or 15,000 monthly. Authority covers 5,000 daily or 150,000 monthly. One keyword checked daily uses about thirty times the allowance of the same keyword checked monthly, so quote the frequency alongside the number.
Does Ranktracker have a free trial?
Yes. Ranktracker offers a seven day free trial and states that no payment details are required to start it. There is no permanently free plan. Seven days is enough to judge a tracker if you spend it watching a handful of keywords you already know the positions of, rather than adding your whole list.
Does Ranktracker have a free plan?
No. Every Ranktracker plan is paid, starting at $39 a month or $31 on annual billing. The free access is the seven day trial. Some free keyword and SERP checking tools are available on the site without a subscription, but continuous tracking of a saved keyword list requires a paid plan.
Is Ranktracker worth it?
It is good value if you want a whole SEO toolkit rather than a tracker, because keyword research, SERP analysis, backlink monitoring and site audits are included at $39. It is poor value if you only need positions and your list is long, since the daily allowance is the real constraint and dedicated trackers cost less per daily keyword at scale.
Does Ranktracker track rankings daily?
Yes, on every plan, but only for the portion of your keyword list you assign to daily checking. The daily allowance is 500 keywords on Launch and 5,000 on Authority. Anything above that has to run weekly, fortnightly or monthly, and Ranktracker sends daily email notifications covering movements on your tracked sites.
Does Ranktracker track Bing?
Yes. Ranktracker states it tracks Google, Yahoo, Bing and Yandex, and supports local rankings within those. That is broader engine coverage than most dedicated trackers offer, including Serpstracker, which tracks Google only. If Bing positions appear in your reporting, that alone is a strong argument for Ranktracker.
What is the difference between Ranktracker and Rank Tracker by SEO PowerSuite?
They are unrelated products with confusingly similar names. Ranktracker is a web based subscription billed monthly from $39. Rank Tracker is desktop software inside the SEO PowerSuite bundle, licensed annually, that runs checks on your own machine. The desktop route is cheaper over several years but stops checking whenever the computer is off.
Is Ranktracker better than Ahrefs?
For rank tracking specifically, Ranktracker is the better buy: it checks daily on every tier and starts at $39, while Ahrefs Rank Tracker updates weekly by default and daily needs a paid add-on. For backlink data Ahrefs is far ahead and nothing at this price replaces its index. They solve different problems despite overlapping.
What is the best Ranktracker alternative?
If you want the suite, SE Ranking at $129 a month is the closest comparable platform with daily checking. If you only need positions, a dedicated tracker is cheaper per daily keyword once the list passes a thousand: Serpstracker tracks 1,500 daily for $99 and 5,000 for $249, against $89 for 1,000 and $299 for 5,000.
For the wider budgeting question, how much a rank tracker costs explains the pricing units used across the category, and is Ranktracker worth it works through the decision by team size and keyword count.
