How accurate are rank trackers?
Rank trackers are accurate within a position or two for most keywords. They check Google from a neutral, logged-out browser at a set location and device, so results can differ slightly from the personalized page you see yourself.
That answer, and nine more, in full below. This page is the honest version: what a rank tracker can and cannot promise, and exactly where Serpstracker stands today. Want to test accuracy yourself? Run the google rank checker against what your own browser shows.
Rank tracker accuracy, personalization, and freshness
How accurate are rank trackers?
Accurate within a position or two for most keywords. A rank tracker checks Google from a clean, logged-out browser at a fixed location and device, so it reports a neutral baseline rather than any one person's view. Day-to-day wobble of a spot or two is normal because Google itself varies between queries.
Why does my rank tracker show a different position than I see in Google?
Personalization. Your own results are shaped by your search history, your exact location, and whatever layout Google is testing on you. The tracker's logged-out, fixed-location check is the fair baseline; your browser shows one personalized sample of many.
Why not just use Google Search Console?
Keep Search Console, it is free and useful. But it shows an averaged, delayed position blended across queries, with no competitor data and no same-day drop alerts. A dedicated tracker gives you today's position per keyword, per location, per device, and tells you the day something falls.
How fresh is the data?
Positions are checked once every day. No daily tracker can catch intra-day flutter, and that is fine: what protects traffic is that a real drop triggers an alert the same day it is picked up, not a month later in a traffic report.
Can I track local and mobile rankings?
Yes, that is the plan for launch. Positions are checked per location, down to city level, and per device, with desktop and mobile tracked as separate series, because the two results pages often disagree.

Is Serpstracker live yet?
Not yet. We are in early access and onboarding users in batches. Joining the list costs nothing, there is no payment step, and early-access members lock in launch pricing.
How is Serpstracker different from Semrush or AccuRanker?
Semrush sells position tracking as one feature inside a full SEO suite, so you pay suite prices for it. AccuRanker is a strong dedicated tracker priced by keyword count and aimed at larger teams. Serpstracker is rank tracking only, done deep, with planned pricing that starts at $39 per month.
What happens after I sign up?
You enter your email, confirm it with a 6-digit code, and you are on the early-access list. We email you when your spot opens. No payment, no spam, and you can leave the list at any time.
What are the keyword limits?
Planned limits: 250 keywords on Starter, 1,500 on Growth, 5,000 on Agency, and custom volume on Enterprise. Every keyword is checked daily on every plan; the limit is how many you track, not how often.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Plans will be monthly with no contracts, cancel anytime. And during early access there is nothing to cancel, because nothing is billed until launch and you choose to subscribe.
