Rank tracking providers compared by update frequency and price
Most rank tracking providers claim daily data, but the plan you can afford often updates weekly. Wincher, Nightwatch, AccuRanker and SerpsTracker are daily on their standard plans. Mangools is daily only on its top plan, and Ubersuggest is weekly everywhere. Pick on update frequency first, then keyword allowance, then price. SerpsTracker starts at $49 a month for 250 keywords checked every day.

Why update frequency decides the choice
Providers are usually compared on keyword counts and dashboards. The number that changes what you can do with the data is how often a position is re-read. Weekly data tells you where you stood last Monday. Daily data tells you the day something broke, which is the difference between fixing a lost page on Wednesday and finding out the following week. If a ranking drives revenue, that gap has a price, and it is larger than the gap between any two plans below.
The trap is that the cadence sits in the fine print of the plan, not on the headline. The table lists the cadence on the entry plan of each provider, because that is the plan most buyers end up on.

Which rank tracking provider fits which buyer
A freelancer or a first site
You want daily data, three or more sites on the entry plan and a bill you stop noticing. SerpsTracker Starter and Wincher Basic both fit. The longer comparison with eleven entry plans is in best rank tracker for freelancers.
An in-house team that answers for a ranking number
Competitor rows and alerts matter more than the keyword ceiling. Growth at $99 gives 1,500 keywords, 10 sites, named competitors and Slack alerts. AccuRanker is the alternative if the list is large and freshness outranks price. The side by side is on best rank tracker.
An agency with many client sites
Unlimited sites and an API decide it. Agency at $249 covers 5,000 keywords and unlimited sites. See rank tracking for agencies for the client reporting side.
A migration or launch week
Here an hourly reading is worth money for a few days. True hourly schedules are expensive at every provider that sells them, so compare them on the hourly rank tracker page before you commit to an annual plan for a week of data.
What to check before you subscribe
Four checks take ten minutes and avoid most regrets. Confirm the update frequency on the exact plan you are about to buy. Confirm whether the keyword allowance is pooled across sites or fixed per project. Confirm whether the price shown is monthly or the annual rate with a toggle preselected. And confirm the currency, since several European providers quote euros to US buyers.
One more habit saves confusion later. When a ranking drops, rule out your own site first. A server outage looks exactly like a lost position, which is why teams pair a tracker with uptime monitoring that checks from several regions and read the two charts together. After that, the daily history shows whether a competitor, an update or your own change moved you, and rank drop alerts tell you the same day.
Rank tracking provider questions
How do I choose a rank tracking provider?
Start with update frequency on the plan you will actually buy, then check the keyword allowance per site, competitor columns and alerts. A provider that is daily only on its top tier is a weekly provider for most buyers. Price comes last, because a missed drop costs more than a plan.
Which rank tracking providers update daily?
SerpsTracker, Wincher, Nightwatch and AccuRanker update every 24 hours on their standard plans. Mangools SERPWatcher is daily only on its Agency plan. Ubersuggest is weekly on all three of its plans. Advanced Web Ranking and Nozzle add on demand and hourly options at higher prices.
Do I need hourly rank tracking?
Rarely. Hourly data matters during a migration, a launch or a core update, which is a few days a year. Most teams are better served by daily readings plus an on demand check pool for those days than by paying a premium for an hourly schedule all year.
What is the cheapest daily rank tracking provider?
For a small list, SERPRobot is the cheapest at a few dollars a month. For a real site with a few hundred keywords, Wincher at EUR 49 for 500 keywords and SerpsTracker at $49 for 250 are the lowest entry prices that check every day and keep competitor data.
Is a weekly rank tracker good enough?
For a hobby site, yes. For a site that earns leads or sales, no. A weekly reading can hide a drop for six days and cannot separate a core update from ordinary noise. If you manage client work, daily is the floor.
