Every hour, or every morning

Hourly rank tracker and hourly rank checker tools compared

The short answer

Only a few rank trackers run on an hourly schedule. Nozzle does, and bills each check, so 1,000 keywords hourly is about 720,000 checks a month. Advanced Web Ranking sells a 1 hour refresh from $279. The cheaper setup is daily tracking for every keyword plus on demand rechecks for the 20 to 400 keywords you are actually worried about today.

Which hourly rank tracking software exists

Which rank trackers update hourly, and which only say they are fast.

"Hourly" means three different things on vendor pages. A scheduled hourly run checks a keyword group 24 times a day without you touching it. A fast on demand refresh lets you trigger a new reading every hour or so. A plain on demand recheck gives you a fresh reading between daily runs, with a cooldown or a daily pool. Most buyers searching for an hourly rank tracker need the third and are sold the first.

If you genuinely need thousands of keywords read every hour, unattended, for weeks, Nozzle is built for that job and we are not. It pulls the top five pages of results per check and puts no keyword on a fixed rate: you choose hourly for one group and weekly for another, and the bill follows the SERP count.

AccuRanker is the one most often described as hourly in roundups. Its own help center is more precise: "Your keywords are automatically updated every 24 hours", and manual updates "are disabled when keywords have been updated less than two hours ago." That is a two hour floor, available on every subscription.

What hourly rank tracking costs

Hourly multiplies every keyword by 24, and so does the invoice.

Every rank tracker pays for each Google lookup somewhere, either inside a flat plan or as a metered unit. Moving a keyword from daily to hourly turns 30 lookups a month into about 720. Here is what that does to a keyword list at four sizes.

Nozzle, 1,000 keywords hourly

$2,499

a month on the annual term. 720,000 checks fits the Business Advanced tier of 725,000 SERPs. Nozzle's own help center warns that 1,000 keywords hourly pulls 24,000 SERPs a day.

Nozzle, 20,000 keywords daily

$2,416

a month, Nozzle's own worked example: 600,000 SERPs on Business Basic. The same budget buys twenty times more keywords daily than hourly.

SerpsTracker Agency

$249

a month, $124.50 billed yearly. 5,000 keywords daily, plus 10,000 on demand checks a day: enough for 416 keywords every hour, scripted through the API.

Nozzle prices read from nozzle.io/pricing on October 15, 2026, where the page labels them as its own annual term quotes. Nozzle reads five pages of results per check, which is more data than a top 10 reading, so the comparison is about cost per hourly reading, not like for like features.

Do I need hourly rank tracking

Five days a year when hourly earns its cost, and the other 360.

01

Migration or relaunch

URLs change, redirects go live, and the first 48 hours decide whether a drop is a blip or a broken redirect map.

02

Core update rollout

Google rolls updates over days. Hourly readings on your top pages show when the move started and whether it is still going.

03

Launch or campaign day

A product launch, a sale or a press hit. You want to see the new page enter the top 10 while the traffic is there.

04

Client escalation

A client says "we vanished from Google this morning". Three readings an hour apart settle it before the call.

05

Live and news queries

Sports, events, finance and anything with a Top stories box. These results do reorder within a day.

Two marketing colleagues comparing a ranking chart on a monitor in a small meeting room
The hour after a migration goes live is when a team actually reads rankings hour by hour.

The rest of the year hourly mostly records noise. Different Google data centers answer the same query a few positions apart, and a keyword that reads 4, 6, 5, 4 across an afternoon has not moved. Nozzle, the vendor that sells hourly, says plainly that it "isn't something that most users will need very often" and recommends daily or weekly with hourly switched on for specific dates.

One more check before you buy: if what you want every hour is proof the site itself is up, that is a different tool. Uptime monitoring that checks every 30 seconds tells you about an outage long before any ranking moves.

04 · Hourly on the keywords that matter

Daily for the whole list, hourly for the twenty you are nervous about.

SerpsTracker checks every tracked keyword once a day on its own and keeps the history. On top of that, each paid plan carries a daily pool of on demand checks. Each Check now reading is a fresh Google top 10, stored in the same keyword history as the daily readings, so the hourly series and the daily line live in one place.

Hourly figures are the daily pool divided by 24. Yearly billing halves every price shown. If you only need hourly readings for a few hours of a launch day, the same pool covers far more keywords: 10,000 checks is 1,250 keywords every hour for an eight hour window.

1

Track the whole list daily

Add your sites and keywords. Every one gets a Google reading each morning and a history line.

2

Mark the money keywords

Group the 20 to 400 that carry revenue, the pages you are migrating or the client's top terms.

3

Recheck on the hour

Press Check now on each of them, or on Agency point a cron job at the API check endpoint once an hour.

4

Get told about real drops

Drop alerts damp small wobbles and send at most one message per keyword a day, so the inbox stays readable.

Choosing hourly rank tracking software

Pick the tool by how many keywords need the hour, not by the word hourly.

If you need

Thousands of keywords hourly, for weeks

Nozzle

A true per group schedule, deep SERP data and metered billing that scales to millions of checks. Budget for four figures a month at 1,000 keywords hourly.

If you need

A fast refresh inside a full SEO suite

Advanced Web Ranking Agency

1 hour on demand updates, the developer API, Looker Studio and white label from $279 a month, with unlimited users and projects.

If you need

Daily tracking with hourly on a shortlist

SerpsTracker

Every keyword daily from $49, a Check now pool for the keywords you are watching, and the API on Agency to put the hour on a schedule.

If you need

An occasional refresh between runs

AccuRanker

Daily updates and a manual refresh on any subscription, with a two hour cooldown per keyword.

Where we lose: SerpsTracker reads the top 10 only, so a keyword sitting at position 40 shows as not ranking rather than as 40. Nozzle's five page depth is the better choice if you are tracking a recovery from deep in the results. We also do not run an hourly schedule ourselves; the hour comes from your button press or your script.

Where we win: price at the volume most teams actually need. For a store, a SaaS or an agency watching a migration, hourly readings on a few hundred keywords plus daily on a few thousand is the real job, and that is a $249 plan with nothing metered. The full per tool math is on our rank tracker cost comparison.

Hourly rank tracking questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there an hourly rank tracker?

Yes, but only a few tools schedule it. Nozzle lets you set any keyword group to an hourly schedule and bills every check as one SERP. Advanced Web Ranking sells a 1 hour on demand refresh from its $279 Agency plan. AccuRanker, Nightwatch, Wincher and SerpsTracker update daily and let you recheck a keyword on demand between runs.

Do I need hourly rank tracking?

Usually not, and Nozzle, the tool best known for it, says so in its own help center: hourly tracking "isn't something that most users will need very often." It earns its cost during a migration, a relaunch, a core update rollout or a live event, for the handful of keywords that carry the revenue. For everything else, daily is enough.

How much does hourly rank tracking cost?

Roughly 24 times daily tracking, because every keyword is checked 24 times a day. 1,000 keywords hourly is 24,000 checks a day and about 720,000 a month. On Nozzle's own pricing page that volume sits in the Business Advanced tier, 725,000 SERPs at $2,499 a month on the annual term, read October 15, 2026.

Which rank tracker updates hourly?

Nozzle is the one that runs a true hourly schedule you set and forget. Advanced Web Ranking offers 1 hour on demand updates on Agency and above. AccuRanker refreshes on demand, but its help center says a manual update is disabled when the keyword was updated less than two hours ago, so about every two hours is its floor.

Does AccuRanker update hourly?

No. AccuRanker updates every keyword automatically every 24 hours, and you can refresh one keyword or all of them by hand. Its help center states that manual updates are disabled when keywords have been updated less than two hours ago, regardless of your subscription. That makes two hours the shortest gap you can get.

Is real-time rank tracking possible?

A real-time check is possible, a real-time tracker is not. Any tool can fetch Google's current top 10 for a keyword the moment you ask, which is what the checker at the top of this page does. No vendor watches every keyword continuously; stored history is always built from scheduled or on demand checks.

How often should you check keyword rankings?

Daily for every keyword you care about, and more often only during an event you can act on. Google reorders most results far less than hourly, so intraday readings mostly show noise from data centers and personalization. Weekly, the default on Ahrefs and Moz, can leave a drop unseen for up to six days.

Can I check rankings on demand in SerpsTracker?

Yes. Every tracked keyword has a Check now action that fetches today's Google top 10 and stores the reading. Each paid plan has a daily pool: 500 checks on Starter, 3,000 on Growth, 10,000 on Agency and 20,000 on Enterprise. On Agency and Enterprise the same check is an API endpoint, so you can script it.

Can SerpsTracker run hourly checks on a schedule?

Not as a built-in schedule. Every keyword is checked once a day automatically. For hourly readings you use the on demand pool: by hand from the dashboard on any plan, or from a cron job against the API on Agency and Enterprise. 10,000 checks a day covers 416 keywords every hour around the clock.
