Serpfox, priced honestly

Serpfox alternative and Serpfox pricing, compared per daily keyword

The short answer

Serpfox is one of the cheapest rank trackers you can buy: $12 a month for 100 keywords, $60 for 1,000 and $180 for 5,000, with two months free on annual billing. It also tracks AI assistant answers, which we do not. It counts every device and location as a separate keyword, though, and its ladder skips from 1,000 to 2,500. On yearly billing, SerpsTracker tracks 1,500 Google keywords daily for $49.50 a month and 5,000 for $124.50.

Serpfox pricing

Serpfox pricing, all eight plans on one ladder.

Serpfox sells keyword buckets rather than feature tiers. Every paid plan gets local tracking, desktop and mobile, search volume and unlimited reports. What changes up the ladder is the keyword count, the number of AI prompts and how often those prompts run, and whether client logins and white label are switched on.

The annual toggle on the same page reads "Pay annually and get two months free", which is where the $10 figure in many reviews comes from: it is the annual rate for Starter 100, not the monthly one.

The page prints a dollar sign without a currency code. Serpfox is based in New Zealand, so confirm the currency at checkout before you put a number in a budget.

Above 10,000 keywords Serpfox lists larger agency sizes with the same features: 15,000 keywords for $500 a month, 20,000 for $650, 25,000 for $800, 30,000 for $950 and 40,000 for $1,200, up to 80,000 at $2,300. One oddity worth a question to their support before you sign: the monthly view we read lists both 50,000 and 60,000 keywords at $1,500 a month. The annual view shows 60,000 at $1,500 and does not list 50,000 at all.

What counts as a keyword

A Serpfox keyword is a phrase, an engine, a place and a device.

"One search term on one search engine, for one location and device. "plumber auckland" on Google, mobile, Auckland is one keyword."

Serpfox pricing page, "What counts as a keyword?", read September 2026.

That is a fair rule, because each combination really is a separate search. It does mean the number on the plan card is a ceiling for one engine, one place and one device. Most buyers who move to Serpfox want the desktop and mobile split it advertises, and that doubles the count on day one.

Worked from Serpfox's own definition and its monthly plan list. SerpsTracker runs one check per keyword, Google organic, once a day, so 750 phrases use 750 keywords. The flip side is that we do not split results by device or city. If you need those splits, the Serpfox count is the honest price of getting them.

Priced on real keyword counts

Serpfox vs SerpsTracker at five keyword counts, monthly and yearly.

One Google engine, one location, one device, so Serpfox's multiplier stays at one. Each cell is the cheapest plan that covers the count. The winner column is scored on the price alone.

Daily keywords Serpfox, monthly / yearly SerpsTracker, monthly / yearly Cheaper
250 to 300 Starter 300: $30 / $25 Starter (250): $39 / $19.50 Serpfox monthly, SerpsTracker yearly

Small lists, monthly

Serpfox wins. $30 for 300 daily keywords with desktop and mobile available is less than our $39 for 250, and the free plan covers 10 keywords forever. For a single small site billed month to month, it is the better buy.

The 1,000 to 2,500 gap

Serpfox has no plan between 1,000 and 2,500 keywords. A list of 1,500 lands on Pro 2500 at $120, or $100 yearly. SerpsTracker Growth covers 1,500 for $99, or $49.50 a month yearly, so this is the band where switching pays.

5,000 keywords

Monthly, Serpfox Agency 5000 at $180 beats our $249. Yearly, the order flips: $1,800 a year on Serpfox against $1,494 here, with the API included on our side. Above 5,000, Serpfox publishes prices and we quote.

How Serpfox sits against the rest of the market is in the rank tracker cost comparison, and the budget end, where Serpfox belongs, is priced in the cheapest rank tracker breakdown.

Scored honestly, Serpfox takes the entry price, plan granularity, engines, devices, locations, AI tracking, reports and white label rows. SerpsTracker takes the yearly price at 1,500 and 5,000 keywords, the simpler count, and competitor dates in the rank table. If an agency client expects a branded PDF every Monday, that single row decides it for Serpfox.

Who should switch, who should stay

Switch if you are one of these Serpfox customers.

  • Your list sits between 1,000 and 2,500

Crossing 1,000 keywords doubles the Serpfox bill from $60 to $120. At 1,500 Google keywords our Growth plan is $99 a month, or $594 for the year against $1,200 on Pro 2500 annual.

  • You pay yearly for 5,000 keywords

Agency 5000 annual is $1,800. SerpsTracker Agency is $1,494 for the same count, with unlimited sites and API access.

  • You only ever read Google desktop

If the Bing, mobile and AI columns go unread, you are paying for a wider product than you use. A single daily Google check with the top 10 stored is the whole of what we sell.

Stay on Serpfox if any of these is true.

  • You track what AI assistants say

Serpfox checks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini and records mentions, citations and competitors named. We do not offer anything like it.

  • Clients get branded reports

Client logins and white label come with Pro 1000. We export CSV and offer an API on Agency, and we do not generate branded PDFs.

  • You track under 500 keywords month to month

From $12 to $40 a month Serpfox is hard to beat, and the free plan lets you keep a 10 keyword watchlist at no cost.

Moving your keywords over

Export, collapse the duplicates, run both for two weeks.

Step 01

Export from Serpfox

Serpfox exports CSV reports. Pull the keyword list and keep a copy of the ranking history, because history does not travel between trackers.

Step 02

Collapse device and city rows

A phrase tracked on desktop and mobile shows up twice. Keep one row per phrase: that is the list SerpsTracker checks on Google each day.

Step 03

Paste into SerpsTracker

Add the site and paste the keyword column, one per line. First readings arrive within minutes, so the overlap starts the same day.

Step 04

Downgrade at renewal

Serpfox applies downgrades at the end of the billing period and lets you cancel from your account, so time the change to your renewal date.

The full checklist is in how to switch rank trackers without losing your ranking history. Two trackers rarely agree on the same morning, and how accurate are rank trackers explains why. For Serpfox on its own terms, read our Serpfox review.

Serpfox alternative questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Serpfox alternative?

It depends on why you are leaving. If you want daily Google positions at 1,500 or 5,000 keywords on yearly billing, SerpsTracker is cheaper: $49.50 and $124.50 a month. If you need AI assistant tracking, Bing, city splits or white label reports, stay on Serpfox or look at SE Ranking, which bundles those into a suite.

How much does Serpfox cost?

Serpfox has a free plan for 10 keywords, then Starter plans at $12, $30 and $40 a month for 100, 300 and 500 keywords, Pro at $60 for 1,000 and $120 for 2,500, and Agency at $180 for 5,000 and $350 for 10,000. Annual billing gives two months free, so Pro 1000 drops to $50 a month.

Is Serpfox $10 or $12 a month?

Both figures are on the Serpfox pricing page. Starter 100 is $12 a month billed monthly and $10 a month billed annually. Many older reviews quote $10 as if it were the monthly price, which is why the two numbers circulate. The monthly bill for 100 keywords is $12.

How does Serpfox count keywords?

Serpfox defines a keyword as one search term on one search engine, for one location and device. So "plumber auckland" on Google mobile in Auckland is one keyword, and the same phrase on desktop is a second one. Tracking 500 terms on desktop and mobile uses 1,000 of your allowance.

Does Serpfox track AI answers?

Yes. Serpfox asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini the prompts you add and records whether your brand was mentioned, whether your site was cited and which competitors were named. Starter plans include 10 prompts checked weekly, Pro 50 checked daily and Agency 300 checked daily. SerpsTracker does not track AI answers.

Does Serpfox have white label reports?

On Pro and Agency plans, yes. The pricing page marks client management and white label as switched off on the Free and Starter plans and included from Pro 1000 at $60 a month. Serpfox says clients see your logo, colours and domain on the dashboard and on scheduled PDF reports.

Is Serpfox cheaper than SerpsTracker?

On monthly billing at small and very large lists, yes. Serpfox is $30 for 300 keywords and $180 for 5,000, against our $39 and $249. On yearly billing we are cheaper at 1,500 keywords ($49.50 against $100 for Serpfox Pro 2500) and at 5,000 ($124.50 against $150).

What does Serpfox do that SerpsTracker does not?

Quite a lot. Serpfox tracks Google, Bing and Yandex, splits desktop from mobile, tracks by city, runs AI assistant checks, emails scheduled PDF and CSV reports, gives clients their own logins and offers white label from Pro. SerpsTracker records one daily Google organic check per keyword and stores the top 10 behind it.

Pricing other budget trackers against Serpfox? The SERPRobot alternative covers the cheapest daily checks on the market, the RankWatch alternative prices another tracker that multiplies keywords by location, and the daily rank tracker page shows what a same day alert looks like.
