Serpfox review 2026, Serpfox pricing and which plan to buy
Serpfox is a budget rank tracker that has been running since 2010 and now also checks what ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini say about your brand. Paid plans run from $12 a month for 100 keywords to $350 for 10,000, with two months free on annual billing. It is excellent value under 1,000 keywords. Watch two things before you pick a plan: every device and location counts as a separate keyword, and nothing sits between 1,000 and 2,500.

How we reviewed Serpfox
Everything below comes from what Serpfox publishes: the pricing page in both its monthly and annual views, the four questions answered under the plan cards, and the feature list on the homepage, all read in September 2026. We did not run an accuracy test, so we do not score accuracy, and we do not quote star ratings from review sites. Where a figure is ours, such as a cost per keyword, it is plain arithmetic on Serpfox's own numbers.
We sell a competing daily Google rank tracker. Read the verdict with that in mind. Serpfox beats us on several rows, and we say which.
Serpfox pricing in 2026
Serpfox sells keyword buckets. Every paid plan carries the same core: local tracking, desktop and mobile, search volume, unlimited reports and premium support. Up the ladder you get more keywords, more AI prompts checked more often, and from Pro 1000 the client management and white label features.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, per month | Keywords | AI prompts | Per keyword, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 10 | 3, weekly | n/a |
| Starter 100 | $12 | $10 | 100 | 10, weekly | $0.120 |
| Starter 300 | $30 | $25 | 300 | 10, weekly | $0.100 |
| Starter 500 | $40 | $33.30 | 500 | 10, weekly | $0.080 |
| Pro 1000 | $60 | $50 | 1,000 | 50, daily | $0.060 |
| Pro 2500 | $120 | $100 | 2,500 | 50, daily | $0.048 |
| Agency 5000 | $180 | $150 | 5,000 | 300, daily | $0.036 |
| Agency 10000 | $350 | $291.70 | 10,000 | 300, daily | $0.035 |
Larger agency sizes go from 15,000 keywords at $500 a month to 80,000 at $2,300. The page prints a dollar sign without naming a currency, and Serpfox is a New Zealand company, so check the currency at checkout. Many reviews quote Serpfox at $10 a month for 100 keywords; that is the annual rate. The monthly price is $12.
The keyword rule that decides your plan
Under the plan cards Serpfox answers "What counts as a keyword?" with one sentence: one search term on one search engine, for one location and device. Its example is "plumber auckland" on Google, mobile, in Auckland. The same phrase on desktop is a second keyword, and on Bing a third.
Most people buy Serpfox partly for the desktop and mobile split, so the practical rule is to double your phrase count before you pick a plan. 450 phrases on both devices is 900 keywords, which fits Pro 1000 at $60. Add a second city and it is 1,800, which needs Pro 2500 at $120. That jump is the single biggest surprise in the Serpfox price list, because there is nothing between the two.
The AI assistant tracking, and what it is worth
This is what sets Serpfox apart from most budget trackers in 2026. You add the questions a customer might ask an assistant, such as "best rank tracker for agencies", and Serpfox asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini on a schedule. It records whether you were mentioned, where in the answer, whether your site was cited, which sites the answer drew on, and which competitors were named, with share of voice against up to 10 of them.
The limits matter. Starter plans get 10 prompts checked weekly, which is enough to watch a handful of money questions. Pro gets 50 checked daily, Agency 300. If AI answers are a real channel for you, Pro 1000 at $60 is the plan where the feature becomes useful rather than a sample. Knowing that an assistant names a rival is only half the job, of course; if you also want to monitor competitor price and website changes as they happen, that is a separate kind of tool.
We do not track AI answers at SerpsTracker. If that column matters to you, it is a genuine reason to pick Serpfox over us.
Which Serpfox plan should you buy?
Start from your phrase list, multiply by devices, engines and cities, then read the row that matches.
| Buyer | Serpfox keywords used | Plan and monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Local business, 60 phrases, desktop and mobile, one city | 120 | Starter 300, $30 |
| Freelancer, 3 client sites, 80 phrases each, mobile only | 240 | Starter 300, $30 |
| In-house team, 450 phrases, both devices | 900 | Pro 1000, $60 |
| Small agency, 700 phrases, both devices, needs white label | 1,400 | Pro 2500, $120 |
| Agency, 2,000 phrases, both devices | 4,000 | Agency 5000, $180 |
Two rows deserve a second look. The small agency pays $120 for 1,400 keywords because Pro 1000 stops at 1,000, so trimming 200 low value phrases would halve the bill. And the freelancer gets no client logins on Starter; client management and white label begin at Pro 1000.
Where Serpfox is strong
The low end of the price list is its best feature. $12 for 100 daily keywords with Google, Bing and Yandex, both devices and local tracking is hard to match, and the free plan lets a site owner keep a 10 keyword watchlist forever. Reports are unlimited on every paid plan and can be emailed as PDF or CSV on a schedule. Alerts fire when a keyword enters or drops out of the top 10 or moves more than you set. The published larger agency sizes, up to 80,000 keywords, are rarer than they should be in this market: most vendors make you ask.
Where Serpfox is weaker
The plan gap between 1,000 and 2,500 keywords is the obvious one. The annual discount is two months, about 17 percent, which is modest next to trackers that take half off for a year. The API is described in one line on the homepage, "everything in the dashboard is available as JSON", and the documentation link on the site returned an error when we tried it, so an agency that plans to build on the API should ask for docs before paying. And the monthly price list we read shows 50,000 and 60,000 keywords at the same $1,500, which looks like a typo worth confirming.
Serpfox or a dedicated daily Google tracker?
Pick Serpfox if you track under 1,000 keywords, want device or city splits, need branded client reports, or care about AI answers. It is the better product for all of those.
The case for SerpsTracker is narrower. If your list is 1,500 or 5,000 Google keywords on one device and you pay yearly, we cost $49.50 and $124.50 a month, against $100 and $150 on Serpfox's annual plans. We record one daily Google organic check per keyword, store the top 10 behind it, and send drop alerts by email and Slack. No Bing, no city splits, no AI tracking, no branded PDFs. The full price table, including where each tool wins, is on the Serpfox alternative and pricing comparison, and agencies weighing client reports against cost should read the rank tracker for agencies page first. Our verdict
Serpfox is one of the best value rank trackers under 1,000 keywords, and the AI prompt tracking gives it a reason to exist beyond price. Before you buy, multiply your phrases by every device, engine and city you plan to track, because that total picks the plan. If it lands just over 1,000, cut the list or budget for $120. If it lands at 1,500 or 5,000 Google keywords and you pay yearly, price a dedicated daily tracker before you commit.
Serpfox review questions
Is Serpfox worth it?
For a small site or a freelancer tracking under 1,000 keywords, yes: $12 to $60 a month buys daily rankings on Google, Bing and Yandex, desktop and mobile, local tracking and a few AI assistant prompts. It gets weaker value between 1,000 and 2,500 keywords, where the bill doubles from $60 to $120 with no plan in between.
Is Serpfox free?
Serpfox has a free plan for 10 keywords and 3 AI prompts checked weekly, with no credit card. It is a watchlist rather than a working plan: premium support, client management and white label are switched off. Paid plans start at $12 a month for 100 keywords.
Does Serpfox check rankings daily?
Yes. Serpfox says every keyword is checked each day from the location you pick, on desktop and mobile, and the full history is kept. The weekly and daily labels on the pricing page refer to the AI prompts, not the rankings: Starter plans check prompts weekly, Pro and Agency daily.
How many AI prompts does Serpfox include?
Three on the free plan, 10 on each Starter plan, 50 on Pro 1000 and Pro 2500, and 300 on Agency 5000, Agency 10000 and the larger agency sizes. Starter prompts are checked weekly; Pro and Agency prompts are checked daily across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini.
Can I cancel Serpfox any time?
Yes. The Serpfox pricing FAQ says you can change plans at any time, that upgrades apply straight away and downgrades at the end of the billing period, and that you can cancel from your account. On annual billing that means a downgrade waits for the renewal date.
