Ranktracker vs SEO PowerSuite pricing: which rank tracker costs less to run for a year
For one person tracking their own sites, Rank Tracker by SEO PowerSuite is the cheaper of the two by a wide margin: $179 a year for unlimited keywords, against $374.40 a year for Ranktracker Launch on annual billing, which covers 500 keywords checked daily. The gap closes as soon as you need to hand data to anyone else, because the $179 license cannot export or email a report and the one that can costs $419. The two products also spend your money on different things. Ranktracker runs every check on its own servers and reads the top 100 for each keyword. SEO PowerSuite runs every check from the computer it is installed on, and that computer has to be switched on for anything to happen.

Two different products with almost the same name
Ranktracker, written as one word, is a web application sold at ranktracker.com. You log in from a browser, it checks your keywords on a schedule, and it bundles keyword research, SERP analysis, backlink monitoring and site audits into every plan. Rank Tracker, two words, is one of four desktop programs Link-Assistant sells under the SEO PowerSuite name. It installs on Windows, macOS or Linux, and it is sold on its own or as part of the suite with WebSite Auditor, SEO SpyGlass and LinkAssistant.
Review sites mix the two up constantly, and a buyer searching for one regularly lands on the other. Everything below keeps them apart: Ranktracker means the cloud product, and Rank Tracker or SEO PowerSuite means the desktop one.
The prices, read off both vendors on September 10, 2026
Ranktracker figures come from ranktracker.com/pricing, which says it bills in whatever currency you pick at checkout. Link-Assistant figures come from link-assistant.com/pricing.html. That page served euro prices to the server we read it from; US listings on Capterra and review sites show the same digits in dollars, so they are given in dollars here.
| Plan | Price | What it tracks |
|---|---|---|
| Ranktracker Launch | $39 a month, or $31.20 billed annually | 500 keywords daily, 3,500 weekly, 7,000 every two weeks or 15,000 monthly |
| Ranktracker Growth | $89 a month, or $71.20 billed annually | 1,000 daily or 7,000 weekly |
| Ranktracker Scale | $149 a month, or $119.20 billed annually | 2,000 daily or 14,000 weekly |
| Ranktracker Authority | $299 a month, or $239.20 billed annually | 5,000 daily or 35,000 weekly |
| Rank Tracker Free | $0 | Checks rankings, but saves nothing and has no scheduler |
| Rank Tracker Professional | $179 a year | Unlimited keywords, 5 competitors per project, prints reports with watermarks |
| Rank Tracker Enterprise | $419 a year | Unlimited keywords, 40 competitors, saved, emailed and scheduled reports, CSV, SQL and HTML export |
| SEO PowerSuite bundle | $349, $599 or $899 a year | All four programs on the same Professional, Enterprise and Max edition rules |
Ranktracker counts one budget of checks across four frequencies, so the big monthly figure is not the daily figure. Put a keyword on daily and it uses roughly seven times the allowance of the same keyword on weekly. SEO PowerSuite counts nothing at all on paid licenses. Every tier, term and discount on the desktop side is broken down on our SEO PowerSuite pricing page, and the cloud side on our Ranktracker pricing page.
What a year costs at the keyword counts people actually track
| What you track | Ranktracker, a year on annual billing | Rank Tracker, a year |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 500 keywords, daily | $374.40 (Launch) | $179 Professional, or $419 Enterprise |
| 3,500 keywords, weekly | $374.40 (Launch) | $179 or $419 |
| 1,000 keywords, daily | $854.40 (Growth) | $179 or $419 |
| 2,000 keywords, daily | $1,430.40 (Scale) | $179 or $419 |
| 5,000 keywords, daily | $2,870.40 (Authority) | $179 or $419 |
The right-hand column never moves, and that is the entire appeal of the desktop model. Paying Ranktracker monthly instead of annually adds 25 percent to every figure in the middle column, so Launch becomes $468 a year and Authority $3,588. On the invoice alone SEO PowerSuite wins every row. The rest of this article is about what the invoice leaves out.
Does SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker work when my computer is off?
No. Rank Tracker is desktop software, and its scheduler only fires while the program can run on the machine it is installed on. It will check daily, weekly, monthly or on a custom date, but a laptop closed over a long weekend leaves a gap in the ranking history for exactly those days, and nothing is waiting to tell you a keyword fell while it was shut.
This is the real price difference between the two products. Unlimited keywords are possible because your computer and your internet connection do the checking; a cloud tracker meters keywords because its own servers do. For a consultant who is at the desk every weekday, the trade barely registers. For an agency that wants a reading on Sunday morning and a message when a client keyword drops overnight, it decides the purchase. That overnight message is the job rank drop alerts exist for. And when every keyword falls at once, check the site itself before anyone blames Google: an uptime monitor that checks the site every 30 seconds will usually have caught the outage before the rankings did.
What the $179 license leaves out
Rank Tracker Professional saves projects, runs scheduled checks, uses Link-Assistant's CAPTCHA-free query system and copies data to the clipboard. What it will not do is get the data out of the program in a form a client or a spreadsheet can use: reports print with watermarks, and saving, emailing and scheduling reports, plus CSV, SQL and HTML export, all sit on the Enterprise license. For your own sites that is fine. For even one client, the real entry price is $419.
At $419 the comparison gets interesting, because Ranktracker Launch on annual billing is $374.40, only $44.60 less. For that you are choosing between unlimited desktop keywords with 40 competitors per project, and 500 daily cloud keywords where every keyword includes a top 100 reading and AI Overview monitoring, with unlimited projects and unlimited users on the plan. Ranktracker also lists API access, an MCP server and a Looker Studio connector as add-ons you can buy; it publishes no price for them, so budget separately if you need one.
Can I get a refund from Ranktracker or SEO PowerSuite?
Plan on getting none from either, and test before you pay. Link-Assistant's pricing FAQ says it cannot issue refunds for partial use of the service or for the time left in a subscription. Ranktracker's pricing FAQ says refunds will not be offered during its current discounted promotion, and points buyers to its seven day free trial, which needs no payment details.
The two ways of testing are not equal. Ranktracker's trial runs the real product, schedule included. SEO PowerSuite's Free edition never expires but cannot save a project or run a scheduled check, so it shows you whether you like the interface and not whether a desktop scheduler fits your week. The only way to learn that is to buy a license, which is one more reason to start on one year rather than the discounted two and three year terms.
So which one should you buy?
A solo SEO tracking their own sites from a desk: Rank Tracker Professional at $179 a year. Nothing else we have priced gives unlimited keywords for less, and nobody needs an exported report for their own site.
A freelancer with a handful of clients: a close call. Rank Tracker Enterprise at $419 if you are at the computer most days and want 40 competitors per project. Ranktracker Launch at $374.40 if you want checks that run without you and 500 daily keywords covers your clients. Our Ranktracker review covers where its daily allowance runs out.
An agency checking thousands of keywords daily, with alerts: desktop is out, because the history has to fill itself in. Ranktracker Authority costs $2,870.40 a year for 5,000 daily keywords. A dedicated daily rank tracker costs less at that volume: our Agency plan checks 5,000 keywords every 24 hours for $1,494 a year billed yearly, with same-day drop alerts. To be fair to Ranktracker, it reads the top 100 and covers Bing, Yahoo and Yandex, while we store the organic top 10 and track Google only. If you need those, it is the better buy.
Questions buyers ask about the two
Is Ranktracker the same as SEO PowerSuite Rank Tracker?
No. Ranktracker is a cloud subscription sold at ranktracker.com that checks rankings on its own servers, billed monthly or annually from $39 a month. Rank Tracker is desktop software made by Link-Assistant, sold alone from $179 a year or inside the SEO PowerSuite bundle, and it runs every check from the computer it is installed on.
Which is cheaper, Ranktracker or SEO PowerSuite?
SEO PowerSuite, on the invoice, at every keyword count. Rank Tracker Professional is $179 a year for unlimited keywords, while Ranktracker starts at $374.40 a year on annual billing for 500 daily keywords and reaches $2,870.40 for 5,000. The gap narrows for client work, because the Rank Tracker license that can export or email reports costs $419.
Is SEO PowerSuite a one-time purchase?
No. SEO PowerSuite is sold as a subscription. The pricing FAQ on link-assistant.com says you will be billed annually for the plan you purchase, and the two-year and three-year options are prepaid terms rather than lifetime licenses. Older reviews describing a one-time license with paid updates refer to a model that is no longer on the pricing page.
Does Ranktracker have a free trial?
Yes. Ranktracker offers a seven day free trial and states that no payment details are needed to start it; the trial simply expires if you do not buy. There is no permanently free Ranktracker plan. SEO PowerSuite takes the opposite approach: a Free edition that never expires but cannot save projects or run scheduled checks.
