Head to head
Mangools vs Semrush (Semrush vs Mangools): rank tracking price, daily keyword limits and which to buy
The short answer
Mangools starts at EUR 61 a month and Semrush at $139, and for rank tracking the cheaper tool is also the slower one. Mangools SERPWatcher updates weekly on Basic and Premium and daily only on the EUR 141 Agency plan, while Semrush checks daily on every plan, 500 keywords on the $139 SEO plan. Buy Mangools for unlimited domains and simple research on a budget. Buy Semrush for daily data under 500 keywords and the wider marketing suite. At 1,500 daily keywords, Mangools Agency costs less than half of Semrush Pro+.
Semrush figures were read off semrush.com/prices on September 9, 2026. Mangools figures were read off the rendered mangools.com pricing table, the SERPWatcher page and the Mangools FAQ on September 6, 2026. Serpstracker is a dedicated rank tracker that competes with the tracking module inside both. We are not affiliated with either.

Mangools vs Semrush pricing, plan by plan.
These are list prices on monthly billing with the annual rate beside them. Read the last two columns before the first two. The price tells you what you pay; the update column tells you how often the numbers you are paying for actually change.
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Tracked keywords | Websites | Update frequency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mangools Basic | EUR 61 | EUR 37.70 | 200 | Unlimited | Weekly |
| Mangools Premium | EUR 81 | EUR 52.70 | 700 | Unlimited | Weekly |
| Mangools Agency | EUR 141 | EUR 97.70 | 1,500 | Unlimited | Daily |
| Semrush SEO | $139 | $117.33 | 500 | 5 | Daily |
| Semrush Starter | $199 | $165.17 | 500 | 5 | Daily |
| Semrush Pro+ | $299 | $248.17 | 1,500 | 15 | Daily |
| Semrush Advanced | $549 | $455.67 | 5,000 | 40 | Daily |
The Mangools table we read showed euros. Mangools localizes its currency by region and has been seen showing the same numerals with a dollar sign, so check your checkout screen; either way we do not convert currencies here. Users differ too: Mangools Basic is one person with no extra seats available, Premium allows up to 3 extra and Agency up to 5. Semrush sells extra users as an add-on starting at $45 a month. Tier by tier detail lives on Mangools pricing and Semrush pricing.
Does Mangools update rankings daily? Only on Agency.
Search for Mangools vs Semrush and several of the pages that come back tell you SERPWatcher checks rankings daily on every plan. Mangools itself says otherwise, and it says it in more than one place. Its own navigation describes SERPWatcher like this:
"Rank tracking with weekly updates (daily on the Agency plan)"
The SERPWatcher product page headline repeats it, and the pricing table lists the update frequency as weekly on Basic, weekly on Premium and daily on Agency. So the Mangools plan that compares with Semrush on freshness is the EUR 141 one, not the EUR 61 one most articles line up against Semrush SEO.
Weekly is not useless. If you publish twice a month and look at rankings on Mondays, a weekly read is all you will ever use. It becomes a problem when something breaks: a drop on a Tuesday shows up the following week, and by then you have lost six days of traffic before you even know which page moved.
The second catch: devices
The Mangools FAQ states that tracking one keyword for one domain on desktop and mobile counts as two tracked keywords. Locations meter the same way.
- Basic: 200 slots, which is 100 phrases on both devices.
- Premium: 700 slots, which is 350 phrases on both devices.
- Agency: 1,500 slots, which is 750 phrases on both devices.
Most trackers meter this way, us included. It matters more here because the Mangools ceilings are among the tightest in the category.
What one ranking check actually costs on each plan.
A plan price only means something against how many checks it buys. We multiplied each keyword allowance by its update frequency (30.4 checks a month for daily, 4.3 for weekly) and divided the monthly price by the result. This is the number that tells you whether a cheap plan is cheap.
| Plan | Monthly price | Checks a month | Per 1,000 checks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mangools Basic | EUR 61 | 867 | EUR 70.38 |
| Mangools Premium | EUR 81 | 3,033 | EUR 26.70 |
| Semrush Starter | $199 | 15,208 | $13.08 |
| Semrush SEO | $139 | 15,208 | $9.14 |
| Semrush Pro+ | $299 | 45,625 | $6.55 |
| Semrush Advanced | $549 | 152,083 | $3.61 |
| Mangools Agency | EUR 141 | 45,625 | EUR 3.09 |
| Serpstracker Growth | $99 | 45,625 | $2.17 |
Two things stand out. The cheapest Mangools plan is the most expensive way in this table to read a ranking: before any currency conversion, a thousand checks on Basic cost about 7.7 times what they cost on Semrush SEO. And the ranking flips at the top. Mangools Agency buys the same 45,625 daily checks as Semrush Pro+ for less than half the monthly figure, with no cap on domains where Pro+ stops at 15. Semrush Starter is the worst value in its own lineup for tracking alone, because it shares the 500 keyword ceiling of the $139 plan.
We put our own Growth plan in the last row because it is the honest comparison for the one job this table measures. It is a tracker only, which the next two sections deal with directly. The same arithmetic for eleven more tools is on the rank tracker cost comparison.
Neither is bad software. They are built for different buyers.
Mangools
Best for many small sites on a budget
- Unlimited domains on every plan, where Semrush caps websites at 5, 5, 15 and 40.
- Five tools in one login: KWFinder, SERPChecker, SERPWatcher, LinkMiner and SiteProfiler.
- API and MCP access plus AI Search Watcher PRO included on all three plans.
- A 48-hour money back guarantee and a permanent free account that needs no card.
- Weak spots: weekly tracking below Agency, and Basic is strictly one user.
Semrush
Best for daily data inside a full suite
- Daily Position Tracking on all four published plans, from $139.
- Advertising, content, AI visibility and market research tools Mangools does not attempt.
- Multi-location and multi-device tracking from Pro+, and Share of Voice on Advanced.
- A seven day free trial, stated on the pricing page.
- Weak spots: the website cap, and SEO and Starter sharing one 500 keyword ceiling.
A dedicated tracker
Best if tracking is the only job
- Daily checks on every plan, with no weekly tier to trip over.
- Same-day drop alerts by email, and Slack from Growth.
- The organic top 10 stored on every check, so you see who passed you.
- No keyword research, backlinks or audit. You keep a suite for those, or go without.
- From $39 a month for 250 keywords across 3 sites.
Semrush also has the larger US keyword database of the two, and for research on competitive American markets that difference is real. For a blogger picking topics on a handful of niche sites, the Mangools data is usually enough and far easier to read.
Pick by the situation you are actually in.
Case 1
Affiliate or niche blogger, several small sites, checks rankings weekly
Mangools Basic or Premium. Unlimited domains and weekly reads fit the job, and EUR 61 to 81 is the cheapest way to get research and tracking together.
Case 2
Freelancer who needs daily positions on under 500 keywords
Semrush SEO at $139, if you will use its research tools too. If you will not, a dedicated tracker does the daily part for far less.
Case 3
Small agency, around 1,500 keywords daily, many client domains
Mangools Agency beats Semrush Pro+ here: EUR 141 against $299 for the same daily allowance, and no 15 website cap.
Case 4
In-house team that also runs paid search and content
Semrush. The suite is the point, and daily tracking comes with every plan.
Case 5
You already own a research tool and need rankings watched
Neither. Keep what you have and add a tracker. Growth covers 1,500 keywords daily for $99.
Case 6
You track 5,000 keywords or more
Semrush Advanced at $549 or a tracker at $249. Mangools publishes nothing above 1,500.
If rankings are the part you check every morning.
A lot of people comparing Mangools and Semrush are really shopping for one thing: a number they can trust every day for the keywords that pay them. Both suites will give you that number, at EUR 141 or $139 and up. Serpstracker gives you only that number, checked every 24 hours on every plan, which is why it costs less.
What we do not do matters as much. There is no keyword research database, no backlink index and no site audit. We store the organic top 10 on every check, not the top 100, and we do not track the map pack. If you need those, keep a suite. A common setup is Mangools Basic for research at weekly cadence and a tracker for the daily list, which still costs less than Semrush Pro+.
If you are leaving Mangools specifically because of the weekly gate, the Mangools alternative page compares SERPWatcher with a daily tracker line by line, and the Semrush Position Tracking alternative does the same for Semrush.

Questions people ask before they pick one.
Is Mangools better than Semrush?
For a small budget and unlimited domains, yes. For daily rank data and suite depth, no. Mangools Basic costs EUR 61 a month with five tools and no domain cap, but it updates rankings weekly. Semrush SEO costs $139 and checks 500 keywords daily across five websites, with a far larger toolset around it.
Is Mangools cheaper than Semrush?
At the entry level, yes: EUR 61 against $139 a month, or EUR 37.70 against $117.33 on annual billing. Per ranking check it is the reverse below Agency, because Basic updates weekly. A thousand checks cost about EUR 70 on Basic against $9.14 on Semrush SEO. Mangools Agency, at EUR 141 for 1,500 daily keywords, is the cheaper of the two.
Does Mangools update rankings daily?
Only on the Agency plan. Mangools describes SERPWatcher as rank tracking with weekly updates, daily on the Agency plan, which costs EUR 141 a month. Basic and Premium refresh positions once a week. Semrush Position Tracking checks daily on all four of its published plans, starting with the $139 SEO plan.
How many keywords can you track with Semrush?
Semrush tracks 500 keywords on the SEO and Starter plans, 1,500 on Pro+ and 5,000 on Advanced, all checked daily. The two cheapest plans share the same 500 keyword ceiling, so the extra $60 a month for Starter buys other tools rather than more tracking. Semrush also caps websites per plan at 5, 5, 15 and 40.
Which is better for rank tracking, Mangools or Semrush?
Semrush for small keyword lists, Mangools Agency for large ones. Under 500 keywords, Semrush SEO gives you daily data that no Mangools plan below EUR 141 provides. At 1,500 daily keywords, Mangools Agency costs EUR 141 against $299 for Semrush Pro+, and it does not cap domains. Neither is the cheapest option if tracking is all you need.
Can Mangools replace Semrush?
For keyword research, SERP analysis, backlinks and rank tracking on a small site, largely yes. It cannot replace the advertising, content marketing and market research tools in Semrush, or its larger US keyword database. Teams that switch usually do it because they only used Semrush for research and tracking and were paying for modules they never opened.
Does tracking mobile and desktop cost extra?
In Mangools it costs slots. The Mangools FAQ states that one keyword tracked on desktop and mobile counts as two tracked keywords, so the 200 slots on Basic cover 100 phrases on both devices. Semrush shows mobile data on every plan, and lists multi-location and multi-device tracking as a feature that starts on Pro+ at $299 a month.
Where does Ahrefs fit against Mangools and Semrush?
Ahrefs costs the most to enter for rank tracking and updates the least often. Lite is $129 a month for 750 keywords, and the Ahrefs pricing page lists Rank Tracker as weekly on every plan, including the $1,499 Enterprise tier. Its real strength is the backlink index, which neither Mangools nor a rank tracker replaces.
The third suite in this argument has its own breakdown in Mangools vs Ahrefs for rank tracking, and the two bigger suites go head to head on Ahrefs vs Semrush.
