AccuRanker alternative: what to use when $224 a month is more tracker than you need
AccuRanker is a good rank tracker with an unusual pricing floor. The cheapest plan is $224 a month for 2,000 keywords, and the next one up is $764 starting at 10,000, with nothing published in between. Most people looking for an alternative are not unhappy with the product, they simply need 300 or 1,500 keywords and do not want to pay agency prices for them. The good news is that daily checking, which used to be the reason to pay AccuRanker's premium, is now standard at a fraction of the price.

Prices here were read off accuranker.com and each competitor's own pricing page on August 23, 2026. That matters because rank tracker pricing gets misreported constantly, and several vendors have retired plan ladders that comparison articles still sell.
What AccuRanker actually costs
Two published plans, plus an enterprise tier with no figure attached. Professional is aimed at freelancers, consultants and small agencies at $224 a month, and the keyword slider on that plan offers 2,000, 3,000 and 5,000. Expert is aimed at growing agencies at $764 a month, with slider steps of 10,000, 15,000, 20,000 and 25,000. Above 25,000 keywords you contact sales. Annual payment takes 10 percent off, and AccuRanker states you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time at no cost.
The prices above are the entry step of each slider. AccuRanker does not print the increments for the higher keyword tiers in the page source, so I am not going to invent them: assume 5,000 keywords on Professional costs meaningfully more than $224 and check the slider yourself before budgeting.
The gap between $224 and $764
This is the structural quirk worth understanding, because it is what pushes people to look elsewhere. Professional tops out at 5,000 keywords. Expert starts at 10,000. If your keyword set lands between those two numbers, there is no plan built for you, and the step from one to the other is a 3.4x jump in monthly cost. Teams in that band either buy far more tracking than they use or start shopping.
The same logic bites harder at the bottom. If you track 250 keywords for one site, the entry ticket is still $224, which works out at about $0.90 per keyword per month against roughly five cents at the cheaper end of the market. AccuRanker is not overpriced for what it is, it is simply priced for a customer tracking thousands of keywords across many clients. The full ladder across eleven tools is costed in rank tracker cost comparison.
When you should stay with AccuRanker
It would be dishonest to write this without saying what AccuRanker does well, so here it is. Daily updates are included on every tier rather than sold as an upgrade. The platform is built around agency workflows: dynamic tagging, tag clouds, advanced filtering, Google Search Console and Analytics connections, and reporting that holds up in front of a client. Expert adds unlimited read API access, and the enterprise tier adds unlimited write API, BigQuery, raw SERP HTML and a dedicated CSM.
If you are an agency with 10,000 or more keywords, need API access and raw SERP data, and bill the tracker to clients, AccuRanker earns its price and switching to save a few hundred dollars will probably cost you more in migration time than it saves. The honest split is in Serpstracker vs AccuRanker.
What to check before you switch
Cadence first. AccuRanker checks daily, so any replacement that quietly refreshes weekly is a downgrade no matter what it costs. Two of the biggest names in SEO software update tracked rankings weekly rather than daily, which surprises people who assume the expensive suite must be the more frequent one. That comparison is laid out in Moz vs Semrush vs Ahrefs, and the specific case of Moz's paywalled checker in the SEOmoz rank checker.
Then the counting rule, which is where quoted allowances stop being comparable. Some vendors count a keyword once and check it on several engines. Others count each keyword and engine pairing separately, so tracking 30 keywords on two engines spends 60 of your allowance. Read the tooltip next to the number before you compare two plans on keyword count alone.
After that, the boring commercial details: how many user seats are included and what extra ones cost, whether client facing reports are on your tier or two tiers up, whether API access is included or an add on, and how much ranking history you keep. Any of those can quietly reverse a price comparison you thought you had settled.
One last thing worth ruling out before you blame the tracker or the algorithm for a sudden drop. A page that was timing out or throwing errors when Google came past can lose positions for reasons no rank tracker will ever explain, and the fix is monitoring that checks the page every 30 seconds rather than a better SEO tool. Diagnosing a drop is much easier when you can rule out downtime in the same afternoon it happened.
The alternatives, compared honestly
Entry prices at the plans that actually include rank tracking, with the update frequency beside them, because a cheaper plan that checks weekly is not really cheaper.
| Tool and plan | Monthly | Keywords | Cadence |
|---|---|---|---|
| AccuRanker Professional | $224 | 2,000 | Daily |
| AccuRanker Expert | $764 | 10,000 | Daily |
| Serpstracker Starter | $39 | 250 | Daily |
| Serpstracker Growth | $99 | 1,500 | Daily |
| Serpstracker Agency | $249 | 5,000 | Daily |
| Ranktracker Growth | $89 | 1,000 | Daily |
| SE Ranking Core | $129 | 2,000 targets | Daily |
| Semrush SEO | $139 | 500 | Daily |
| Moz Pro Standard | $99 | 300 | Weekly |
| Ahrefs Lite | $129 | 750 | Weekly |
Two footnotes on that table. SE Ranking counts targets rather than keywords, and its own tooltip spells out that 30 keywords across 2 engines equals 60 targets, so the 2,000 is not directly comparable to a flat keyword count. And Ranktracker's allowance changes with how often you check: the same plan that carries 1,000 daily keywords carries 7,000 on a weekly cadence.
Reduced to cost per daily tracked keyword per month, the order is roughly: Serpstracker Agency at five cents, SE Ranking Core at about six and a half, Serpstracker Growth at about seven, Ranktracker Growth at nine, AccuRanker Professional at eleven, and Semrush SEO at twenty eight. AccuRanker sits mid table on unit cost and near the top on entry cost, which is exactly the profile of a tool built for volume buyers.
Which one to pick
If you need one site and a few hundred keywords checked every day, almost any dedicated tracker beats a suite on price, and our plans start at $39 a month for 250 keywords with daily checks, per location and device positions, the organic top ten stored on every check and same day drop alerts. If you want breadth as well as tracking, a suite makes more sense than a tracker. If you are an agency reporting to clients, rank tracker for agencies covers what changes when the reports leave your building.
What we do not offer, so you can rule us out quickly: no backlink index, no keyword research database, no site audit crawler, and we store the organic top ten rather than the full top 100. AccuRanker will beat us on raw SERP access, API depth and agency tagging. The wider field is surveyed in best rank tracker and daily rank tracker.
Common questions
How much does AccuRanker cost per month?
Professional starts at $224 a month at the 2,000 keyword step, and Expert starts at $764 at the 10,000 keyword step. Anything above 25,000 keywords is quoted by sales. Paying annually takes 10 percent off, and AccuRanker says you can change or cancel a plan at any time at no cost.
Is there a cheaper alternative to AccuRanker that still updates daily?
Yes, several. Daily checking is no longer a premium feature. Ranktracker, SE Ranking, Semrush and Serpstracker all refresh daily, with entry plans from $39 to $139 a month. The tools that do not check daily are the two you might least expect: Moz and Ahrefs both refresh tracked rankings weekly on every published plan.
Does AccuRanker have a free trial?
The pricing page offers a demo request and a buy now button rather than a self serve free trial, so treat any third party claim of a no card trial as needing confirmation from AccuRanker directly. Several competitors do publish trials, including 14 days at SE Ranking and 7 days at Ranktracker, both without a card.
Why is there no AccuRanker plan between 5,000 and 10,000 keywords?
AccuRanker publishes slider steps of 2,000, 3,000 and 5,000 on Professional, then 10,000 upward on Expert. Nothing is offered in the gap. Teams tracking 6,000 to 9,000 keywords have to take the Expert plan, which begins at $764 a month, so the effective jump is 3.4x the Professional entry price.
Is AccuRanker better than Semrush for rank tracking?
For tracking alone, AccuRanker is the more focused tool, with faster refreshes, deeper tagging and filtering, and API access on the Expert tier. Semrush is better value if you also need keyword research, site audits and advertising data, since Semrush SEO tracks 500 keywords daily at $139 against AccuRanker's $224 floor.
