RankWatch review, RankWatch pricing and who should pay for it

RankWatch is a rank tracker with a small SEO suite around it, sold at $29, $99 and $449 a month for 250, 1,500 and 7,500 keywords a day. Every plan includes unlimited projects and users, city level tracking, backlink monitoring and white label reports, which makes the $29 plan unusually generous. The weak spots are a keyword count that multiplies by search engine and location, a big gap between $99 and $449, and cancellation by email only.

How we reviewed RankWatch

This review is built from what RankWatch publishes, read from rankwatch.com/pricing.html in September 2026: the three plan cards, the list of features every plan includes, and the FAQ at the bottom of the page, which is where the rules that change the real price are written down. We did not run an accuracy test and we do not quote star ratings. Where a number below is ours, such as cost per keyword, it is simple arithmetic on RankWatch's own figures, and we say so.

We sell a competing product, a daily Google rank tracker, so read the verdict with that in mind. We have tried to be straight about where RankWatch is the better buy, and there are several places where it is.

RankWatch pricing in 2026

RankWatch quotes prices in US dollars by default, with a currency switch for pounds, Australian dollars and rupees. There are three fixed plans and a custom builder. The last column is our arithmetic.

RankWatch plans, monthly price, keywords per day, main inclusions and cost per keyword, read from the RankWatch pricing page
Plan Monthly Keywords a day Also included Per keyword
Medium (M) $29 250 145,000 backlinks monitored, 43,500 audit pages, 100 research credits, white label reporting $0.116
Large (L) $99 1,500 495,000 backlinks, 148,500 audit pages, 400 credits, full white label interface, API export, 1 hour training $0.066
Extra Large (XL) $449 7,500 2,245,000 backlinks, 1,347,000 audit pages, 1,800 credits, white label interface, 4 hours training, account manager $0.060
Custom From $25 You choose Keywords, backlinks and audit pages priced on separate sliders Varies

Annual billing is labelled "Saves 10%", so the fixed plans come to about $26.10, $89.10 and $404.10 a month when paid yearly. If you have seen the XL plan quoted at $499, that figure is still on several review sites and in search snippets, but the page itself shows $449. On top of the plan limits, every tier lists unlimited projects and users, customizable automated reports, real time rank rechecks, unlimited competitor analysis, automated alerts and local or city rank tracking.

The keyword rule that decides your real plan

Here is the part most RankWatch reviews skip. The plan cards say "keywords a day", and the FAQ defines a keyword as one keyword on one search engine or location. Its own example is a project with 20 keywords tracked over 4 search engines, which counts as 80. So the allowance shrinks as soon as you track the same term twice. Watch 250 keywords on Google desktop and Google mobile and you are using 500, which is past the $29 plan. Track 500 keywords in three US cities and you have used the whole 1,500 on Large.

That is a fair way to price: each engine and city is a separate check that costs RankWatch money. It just means the right way to size a RankWatch plan is keywords times engines times locations, not the number on your keyword list. Do that sum before you compare it with any tracker that counts differently. We break the same arithmetic out for five common setups on our RankWatch alternatives and pricing page.

What RankWatch does well

The $29 plan is the headline. Unlimited projects and users at that price is rare; most trackers charge per seat or cap the number of sites on their entry tier, and several of the best known ones hold back white label reports until a mid tier. RankWatch includes white label reporting on Medium and a fully white label interface from Large. For a small agency with a dozen clients and a couple of account managers, that combination is hard to beat on paper.

Local tracking is the second strength. City level rank tracking is on every plan, not an add-on, which matters for agencies serving local service businesses. The backlink monitor and site auditor are sized generously enough to be useful rather than decorative, and research credits give you a light keyword and domain research tool in the same login. If your clients are mostly local and you want one bill for rankings, links and audits, RankWatch covers a lot of ground. Agencies in that position usually find the report is what keeps clients and the first call is what wins them, and some now automate the client discovery consultation so every prospect arrives already qualified.

The API is also well placed. RankWatch says it can add projects, keywords and tags and pull rank and competitor data, and it is available from Large at $99. Plenty of trackers keep API access for their top self serve tier or sell it separately.

Where RankWatch falls short

The plan ladder has a hole in it. Large stops at 1,500 keywords and Extra Large starts at 7,500, with nothing between $99 and $449. A team tracking 3,000 Google keywords is pushed onto a plan built for two and a half times that, or onto the custom builder, whose final price depends on the sliders. Add the multiplier and plenty of mid sized teams hit that hole sooner than they expect.

The annual discount is thin at 10 percent. Many trackers give two months free or more for paying yearly, and we give 50 percent. And the exit is manual: RankWatch asks you to email a cancellation request, refunds only a fresh subscription within 30 days, and does not refund renewals. None of that is unusual in SEO software, but it is worth a calendar reminder before your renewal date.

Who should pay for RankWatch, and who should not

Pay for it if you are an agency or consultant with many small clients, you need city level positions, and your clients expect branded reports. Medium at $29 or Large at $99 is excellent value for that brief, and the unlimited users mean you never pay for a seat.

Look elsewhere if your job is daily Google positions for 2,000 to 5,000 keywords and you already have Ahrefs or Semrush for links and audits. You would be paying $449 for a suite you do not use. That is the buyer we built SerpsTracker for: the Agency plan covers 5,000 keywords checked every day on unlimited sites for $249 a month, or $124.50 billed yearly, with the API included. It records Google organic positions only and stores the top 10, with no city splits, backlinks or white label reports, so it is a narrower tool. The rank tracker cost comparison prices eighteen tools per keyword if you want the whole market in one table, and the daily rank tracker page shows what we check and when.

Our verdict

RankWatch is a good value suite at the bottom of its range and an awkward one in the middle. Buy Medium or Large if you want many projects, many users, city tracking and white label reports for under $100. Before you buy, multiply your keywords by every engine and location you plan to track, because that product, not your keyword list, decides the plan. If the answer lands between 1,500 and 7,500 and you only need Google, price a dedicated tracker before you sign up for $449.

RankWatch review questions

Is RankWatch worth it?

For an agency that wants unlimited projects and users, city level tracking and white label reports from $29 a month, yes, it is one of the better value suites. It is poor value if you track 2,000 to 5,000 keywords on Google only, because the next plan after $99 is $449, and the annual discount is just 10 percent.

How much is RankWatch per month?

RankWatch Medium is $29 a month for 250 keywords a day, Large is $99 for 1,500 and Extra Large is $449 for 7,500. Annual billing saves 10 percent, about $26.10, $89.10 and $404.10 a month. A custom plan starts from $25 and prices keywords, backlinks and audit pages separately.

Is RankWatch accurate?

We have not run a controlled accuracy test on RankWatch, so we will not score it. What we can say is that any two trackers differ by a position or two on the same morning because of location, device and timing. The fair test is to track 20 of your own keywords in two tools for two weeks and compare.

Can I use RankWatch for multiple clients?

Yes. RankWatch puts no cap on projects, domains or clients on any plan, and users are unlimited too. The only limit is the keyword allowance, which counts each keyword once per search engine and location, so a 250 keyword plan could in theory hold 250 projects with one keyword each.

Does RankWatch offer refunds?

Only on a fresh subscription. RankWatch gives a 30 day money back guarantee on a new paid plan, and says renewals of an ongoing recurring subscription are not refunded; you keep access until the end of the cycle. Cancellation is by email request to its support team, so send it before the renewal date.
